How it works
Send the registration number, ECU details and your tool. We confirm support before you ship anything.
After confirmation, you receive the delivery address and packing instructions for the removed control unit.
We perform the agreed unlock procedure and check the unit according to the confirmed setup.
After return, read and write the ECU on the bench with a compatible tool and protocol.
MD1/MG1 bench unlock
Newer Bosch MD1 and MG1 control units may use protection that restricts reading and writing with tuning tools. During an ECU unlock, we process the removed unit so that a compatible tool can subsequently work with it on the bench.
This mail-in service is intended for workshops and tuners stopped by a locked ECU. The exact method and support depend on ECU version, part number, vehicle and tool protocol. Every job therefore starts with a free compatibility check using the registration number and a clear photo of the ECU label.
Once complete, we return the control unit to you. Engine tuning can also be ordered in the same enquiry, allowing both the unlock and requested calibration to be handled while the ECU is with Revtech.
